Pricing
At a glance:
-I typically charge by the piece as I am a fast tattooer, though for larger work my hourly is $180.
-tax is charged on every transaction.
-if you are an active CAF member, bring your military ID for 10% off.
The Breakdown:
As mentioned above, I do tattoo relatively quickly, especially depending on the subject matter of the piece. That being said, strictly relying on an hourly rate is not realistic for me, and I will sometimes defer to my rough pricing guide shown.
There are various factors that will affect the final price, some of which include:
-the location of the tattoo. Certain areas are harder to work with, and will result in costing more. These areas include but are not limited to the ribs, sternum, and collarbones.
-the amount of detail in the design will obviously be a large contributor to the cost, so the pricing guide shown is indicative of the average amount of detail I typically do (which tends to be quite a lot).
-the better you sit during the session, the faster the piece will be done. If you’re constantly squirming (normal twitching is totally fine!) or needing lots of breaks, that time will be added on. It’s absolutely nothing personal, but these things can make a session extensively longer.
Hourly Rates:
For larger scale or extremely intricate work, I will sometimes defer to an hourly pricing structure. My hourly rate is $180/hr, and this cost does not include setup time or any breaks that I provide. If you “tap out” during a session for a piece that typically would be done in one sitting, a new setup fee will be included in the next session which may make the tattoo cost a bit more than the initial estimate.
I always aim to be as fair and transparent as possible with my pricing, so any kind of bargaining or “price shopping” isn’t appreciated. I try to stay away from giving quotes through email, as sometimes sizing changes greatly compared to what was originally discussed (ie., a half sleeve on a 6’ 5” person is not the same as someone who is 5’ 3”). The guide above is a good starting point if you were hoping to get a quote, and you’re welcome to let me know what your budget for something is if you aren’t sure if it’s realistic or not.
